IXL:
  • IXL is an extremely interactive website aimed at helping students better their math skills. The website has several different links that open pages for a specific grade or math skill from pre-kindergarten activities to algebra. For example, if a student wants help with 2nd grade math, they can click on the link for 2nd grade math and then select an area in which they seek help with. This will take them to a quiz of their selected area. There are over 1,000 different types of quizzes the students can via this website. The website is currently undergoing construction to add in links for higher math levels. The URL to this website is http://www.ixl.com/.

CoolMath:
  • CoolMath is a free website that offers help in various topics of math for all different age levels. This site is intended to make math more fun and enjoyable for students and is therefore an interactive website. The site has various links to all kinds of different math games. For teachers, there is a link that provides different options on how to set up e-portfolios for students. Teachers can also create web quests in this link. Based on the layout of the website, I would say the target audience of the website is for pre-k to middle school students. The URL to this site is http://www.coolmath4teachers.com/.

AAA Math
  • AAA math is both an informational-student use site as well as an interactive website. The site has various subjects of math on the left hand column and is sorted by grade level across the top. Students can click on whatever they choose to get information and help on that particular subject. After they read some information used to teach the student, they can take a quiz to assess their knowledge. The sites URL is http://www.aaamath.com/ and is primarily for k-8th graders.

  • This website is an interactive and informational-student website intended to give students and families some fun mathematical questions to work on outside of the classroom. The target age/grade group for this website is k-8th grade. The website is simple in its design yet very engaging for students or family. There are 7 links across the top that are self explanatory such as “en espanol” which is a very helpful and important link in my opinion. To get the answer to each of the challenges offered on the website, click the answer link on the bottom of the page. The URL to the site is http://www.figurethis.org/index.html.

Math Cats
  • Math cats in an interactive and informational-student website intended to give students open-ended mathematical exercises. Students can use this website as a supplemental site for critical thinking exercises in call. The site is intended for k-8th graders and has many interesting games on the site along with a math question of the day on the home page at http://www.mathcats.com/. The website is fairly unorganized but is good in the fact that students will need to explore the site more intensively. The content in this website are more critical thinking, abstract problems for students.

FunBrain
  • This is an informational-student site as well as being highly interactive. Students can find some activity that relates to what they are doing in class and work similar problems on this site. It is highly helpful because the site tells you how to solve each problem if the problem is not answered correctly. This site is most suitable for k-8th graders. The math content varies for each grade. The site could be better as far as information goes because there is either little or no information prior to the quizzes/questions. PurpleMath
  • Purple math is an algebra-based, informational-student website to help students gain a better understanding in algebra concepts. The home page has a search bar in the top right in which a student can search the site to get help on a specific algebra concept. The home page is divided into preliminary, beginning, intermediate, and advanced algebra problems, as well as having a section on solving word problems. This site is extremely easy to follow and contains step by step information needed for solving problems. The URL for this site is www.purplemath.com.

Math is Fun!
  • This website has links for 1st-8th grade math concepts. So far, it is the best informational-student website for various math topics I have found. It is a very student friendly site and contains plenty of examples and instruction, definitions, and sample exercises for students. Students can choose a link that corresponds to what they are covering and get extra practice. The site contains worksheets also that teachers may be able to use in their classrooms. Some of the links are geometry, algebra, and measurements. The URL to this site is http://www.mathsisfun.com/index.htm.

Math Playground
  • This math website is for 1st-8th grade students, as well as lower level high school students. This site serves as both an interactive site as well as an informational-student site. Students can type in topics in which they wish to receive help with and search within the site. From there, they can find an appropriate link and view examples and how-to instructions. For example if a student is having trouble adding fraction, the students can type this in the search bar and view an instructional lesson on how to add them, then go and practice for themselves. Wolfram Alpha
  • This is primarily an informational-student website for advanced high school students or college students. The site is a search engine in which the student can type exactly what they want to know about and receive definitions and explanations as well as examples. This site is not only for math, but it is also useful in physical sciences and chemistry. Also, if the student knows how to type in complex equations into the system, the engine will give step by step instructions how to solve the problem as well as the solutions.
